Going The Extra Mile For Customers

Occasionally the team pick up and respond to an emergency van or car tyre callout that is from a member of the public rather than a truck driver or fleet management services operator.  We always endeavour to answer every call within 6 seconds and find the most local commercial tyre fitters, so that we can get a tyre repaired fast. It was just as well that we did in a recent urgent tyre replacement case as the caller to our emergency tyre service was an expectant Dad with the expectant Mum in the van enroute to hospital to give birth.
Our call handler, Becky, recognised the urgency and that our service target ‘back on the road in 90 minutes’ might prove an anxious time. The value of experience in dealing with emergency tyre replacements really paid off as she shared the issue with her colleagues and together, they immediately determined who the nearest 24 hour van tyre fitters in the network are and called to see who had stock and could do the job promptly. The call came in at 11:31, we allocated it to the dealer at 11:44 and the fitter had completed the emergency van tyre replacement at 12:40. The expectant family were back on the road to be able to make their own very important delivery deadline.

The story also underpins the value of our team’s experience as most often they have friendly first hand, and first name relationships with the dealers and tyre fitters so they know who to ask and which depots are likely to hold tyre stock. With the huge increase in the number vans on the road both commercially and domestically, we are seeing far more cases of van tyre mobile fitting, but this was memorable as the request was simply ‘I need a van tyre fast!’

The call out for commercial tyre replacement is then usually made by the back office staff in the fleet management services team.  They often become quite familiar with the things we need to know but also with one or two of our team here in Liverpool and that helps to speed up the engagement of  the local commercial tyre fitters and the completion of any job.
If it is down to the driver to find the solution, then typically a Google search will be made for mobile commercial tyre fitters or mobile HGV commercial tyres or similar and they should be offered Tyrenet as an option but there are also businesses that pick up a client from a web search for say, truck tyre road service near me and then they will sub contract the job to us anyway but with a significant margin added. 
One of the many advantages that you will benefit from as an account holder and/or a tyre maintenance customer, is that in an emergency we are able to quote the same or similar prices to those that you are normally charged for the routine maintenance service.
This will apply also if you have a maintenance deal with one of our Tyrenet network tyre dealers, we get from them the price that should be charged if they were replacing the tyre locally and the other member of the network who is attending to your same day commercial tyre fitting plus the call out charge.  This way members of our network can keep costs to a minimum, even with an emergency commercial tyre call out.
